Cole's New Do

I took Cole today to have his first hair cut. He looks like a big boy now!! I was sad to see his cute long hair go. I told the lady that I just wanted a trim, but she just kept cutting, and cutting. :( So he now has short hair, and his Grandpa Moss can no longer call him a hippie. Don't ask me why he was nicknamed that when Cris looked like this when he was younger.

Who's the hippie now? Just to let ya know when I was looking for a picture to scan Kennedy saw this picture and asked if it was Cris, when I told her it was she replied with " Daddy looked like a girl." I was laughing so hard. And in case your wondering he runs like one too. :) He's going to totally kill me for that. Any way back to my little guys hair cut. Here he is so cute as usual with his daddy.

I do have to say he looks just like his daddy. Here is Cris at two.

Oh, how I wish Cris' mom still had this suit coat. I would have loved to put my boys in it! Here is Cole with his new do again, age two.

One more just for fun. I bet you can't guess who this is. Boys will be boys!!!!

The Case of The Missing Glasses

It's so hard having a child with glasses. We are constantly looking for them. Well, Kaden's were missing for almost a week. We looked high and low, I called friends, family, and even the pool to see if they had them. Nope, no one did. We knew they had to be in our house somewhere. I really didn't even think to pray about it, it just slipped my mind, until I talked to my mom yesterday. She, said "why don't ya pray about it" I replied with a "ya that's a good idea" and that was that. Fast forward to about a hour ago. I told Cris we really need to find those glasses, so the search continued. We still couldn't find them so I told Cris why don't we pray about it. Cris took Kaden in our bedroom, and they prayed. We looked for about another hour. We searched the laundry, behind the fridge, under the beds, couch, everywhere!! We just could not find them. As I was cleaning the kitchen Kaden's glasses case was sitting on the counter. He never puts his glasses in them, so I set them to the side. I then thought Maybe I should look inside it, but then just shook the case, nothing. I was then prompted to look again. So I picked it up and VIOLA there they were, in the case!!! Boy am I relieved!! There was no way we could afford to buy a new pair at the price of $200+. Kaden just told us that we needed to pray and tell Heavenly Father thank you, he can now see.

Family Pictures

I asked my dad to take some pictures of us when he was down with his fancy smancy camera. They turned out really good!! He got some great shots of the kids. We went a couple of times. The first time the sun was glaring down at us, and the second it wasn't. I used my HP image software that I got with my camera a few years ago to edit a couple. I made the one with the kids on the bike thing look somewhat old fashion with the coloring. I've never really messed around with it, and I think I will be alot more now. Enjoy the new pictures! I also posted quite a few new posts so make sure you scroll down to read them!!

Of topic, but Shana when you went private with your blog I accidentally deleted my invite. Can you email me a new one please? My email is chrismoss79(at)msn(dot)com. Thanks!!

New Family Pictures

Kennedy's Baptism

Kennedy was baptized on June 14, 2008. We have a very small stake, therefor we get to do our own baptisms. Kennedy was so excited. I was to but also sad. My little girl is growing up and she's not suppose to. She choose to sing two of her favorite primary songs, I am A Child of God, and If The Savior Stood Beside Me. Her Grandpa Cziep talked to her about baptism, and her Grandpa Moss talked to her about Receiving the Holy Ghost. They were both really good talks. Cris baptized her and confirmed her, and gave her a wonderful blessing. It was alot of fun to have family come down! The kids were really excited to see Andrew. I'm sure Steven and Maria will have to buy a Wii soon. That's all the boys wanted to do, and Andrew loved it!!
Thanks to everyone who came, and participated.
Cris and Kennedy

All the family that was able to make it.

Have you ever noticed that when you do a family picture with both sides of the family they always are on different sides? Funny huh. We didn't even plan it. Matthew set up the camera timer and we all just stood there.

Ode to My Eldest Children

Happy Birthday!!! Man, time really does fly. I can't believe that you two are already 8, and 7. Here's to you two!!!

KENNEDY

You have grown into a beautiful little lady. It seems like yesterday your father and I brought you home from the hospital. We were so nervous and excited. Being the first born you have defiantly filled our house with joy! You love to swim, ride your bike, and play softball. You just got done with your first year of fast pitch softball and you did awesome!!! You coaches told us several times that they wished all the girls on your team would play with as much heart as you did. You never got upset when getting out or missing a ball or losing the game. You gave it your best and knew that that was good. You are in swim lessons now. You are in the most advance class for your age group which makes me nervous. I'm not down in the deep end to help you. But you swim like a fish!!! You are a great big sister and help me out a ton. You even have offered to change diapers. I hope that you will grow into a wonderful young woman, find a righteous man and marry in the temple. Keep being a wonderful example to your friends and family, and never loose your wonderful bubbly personality. We love you!!!!
Love,
Mom and Dad

KADEN

You are such a handsome boy!! We have a friend that has said since you were born that your eyes would make any girl melt, and I believe so too. You were a wonderful surprise to our family, but I wouldn't trade it for anything!!! You've been a great joy. You've always been the messy one. You spill ALOT!! You've grown so much in the past year. I can't believe that you will be in the second grade in a few months. You love to play with your sisters and brothers.(and fight with them too) You love to play baseball, soccer, and well, any sport. You seem to be very athletic, and it didn't come from me!! You have a love of video games that your dad has past on to you. You love to help me. I'm sure you will find a beautiful young woman to marry in the temple. Keep being the person you are today, and you will go far in life. We love you!!!!
Love,
Mom and Dad

Let Summer Begin!

The kids started swim lessons this past Monday. They are loving it!! It's a great summer activity for them to do. They keep telling me they are bored. So for the next four weeks we will be down at the outdoor pool, Monday through Thursday. ( I need another book to read! Any suggestions?) Cole isn't old enough yet, and I didn't want to do the mom and tot class this year. I did it with Jocelyn and it didn't really do much.
Kennedy had her last softball game Monday. She did really good, and was even able to play second base for a inning. I'm glad that it's over but I'm sure Kennedy will miss it. She learned a lot and improved a lot too. Here is a video of her. Every time I tried to catch her hitting on camera she struck or fouled out. And of course the one time I didn't she hit it and got to first. Figures!!

Dont forget to pause the music below to hear.

Cris and I are playing on a co-ed softball league. It's been really fun! I love to be able to spend the time with Cris and our friends. We've had two games, and won them both. We are going to have a really busy week this week. Kennedy and Kaden's birthday's are this weekend. They choose to have a few friend over for sleepovers. So I'll be busy with that the next few days. I don't know what I was thinking when I told them they could but they will have fun, and that's all that counts. We are having a garage sale on Saturday. I thought that we need to get rid of all the extra junk we've been collecting, and all the baby stuff we have. And last but not least we have a big night Saturday. Kennedy's getting baptised. Crazy!!! I can't believe that she is that old!! Time Flies.

Wish us luck with our crazy busy week!! I know I'll need it!!!

Black Eye

Kennedy is our accident prone child. Her and Kaden were hitting some of those fisher price roll-a-round balls with the bat in the back yard. Apparently Kennedy didn't have a mitt on and Kaden hit one strait at her. It hit her right on the check under her eye. She was tough and didn't cry until I told her we might have to go to the doctor. Then came the water works. "I don't' want stitches mommy!! I want daddy!!!" She is terrified of the E.R. mainly because she had to have 9 staples last fall on the top of her head from falling and hitting our wood burning stove. (which Cris tore out two days later.) After Cris looked at it we decided it would be fine. It swelled up so fast, and turned a little pink. But the next morning she had a black eye. She hopes that it will go away soon, she told me she didn't want to go to church tomorrow. I think it may take a few more days than she thinks. Poor girl!!!

P. F. Changs Rock and Roll Marathon San Deigo 08'

I'm Back!!!

Three night hotel stay: $200
Food and gas: $150
Running a marathon with three of my best friends: PRICELESS!!!

We had a blast!! I'm so happy to be home and see my kids and husband. Cris was such a awesome dad and played hard with his kids for four days, cooked, cleaned, and etc. My house was spotless when I got home, and my kids were too!! Here is a fun outline of what we did.

Friday:
*drove 8 hours
*get stopped by the border patrol near Yuma. Funny story!! Just don't ask three blonde's a question that is so simple to answer. Lol.
* went to the expo
*got our race numbers
* bought some socks, and a shirt
*sat in the hotel room, and vegged without a care

Saturday:
*hit the pool first thing in the morning
*we all got ready considerably fast for three girls sharing one bathroom
*found a mall (of course a girl has to shop)
*went to dinner and got directions to a few different beaches from our waitress
*went in search of La Jolla beach, but found the San Diego Temple instead. (in one word, breathtaking!!)
*went back to the hotel and vegged some more
*went to bed early we had a big day ahead of us!!

Sunday:
*wake up a 4 a.m.
*shuttle to the starting line
*eat the starting line food
*meet up with Jenn
*wait in line for a ridiculous amount of time for the port-a-pottys
*get in our corral and take off!!
*enjoy the scenery and about die of heat and exhaustion at mile 22
*cross the finish line 4 hours and 39 minutes later
*meet up with Susie (she was the speed demon and beat me by 15 minutes)
*wait about 20 minutes for Jenn and Crystal to cross
*get in line and get our medals
*get finishers food (good but not as good as the last race!! They didn't' have popcilces!!)
*walk to the shuttle pick up, and head back to the hotel
*hit the hot tubs
*find the beach
*hit the hot tubs again
*veg some more and fall asleep early

Monday:
*wake up early
*drive 6 hours
*go to a outlet mall (again this is three girls we are talking about no matter how much pain we are in we can always shop. You should have seen the looks we got. Our sun burnt legs, and we looked like we were a bunch of nintey year old lady's walking we were so sore.)
*drive 2 1/2 more hours and get home

We had some fun times that will never be forgotten. The race was awesome and I'm proud to say I did a marathon. I can see why they say you can get addicted to them, I would love to try and beat my time. The race course was o.k. the roads were slanted in several areas which can put lots of strain on your knees. I loved running through the residential areas. People were handing out oranges, otter pops, water, ice tea, watermelon, and spraying the runners with their sprinklers. We also ran a few miles on a main freeway which was really cool!! Susie almost got tripped cause someone dropped their glasses and thought to pick them up with thousands of runners behind her. I left my I-pod in my bag. What I would have given for it around mile 22 when I hit my wall and thought I couldn't go any farther.I took about 5 minutes off my half marathon time. Here is a link with my stats from the race:http://results.active.com/pages/oneResult.jsp?pID=39856529&rsID=64204
Some one had a sign about 3/4 from the finish line that said 1/2 mile to go. It really got me going. I thought " you can do it only half a mile", then a minute later you see a sign that says the real marker for 1/2 mile. Bummer!! Then a man was yelling its just around the corner. HAHAHA!!! Just around the corner whatever!! More like just around the next four or five corners. We ended the race on a army base, which was really neat to run into it, and seeing all the service men and women cheering everyone on. It brought tears to my eyes. Jenn's husband came with her and jumped in with her on the last 5 miles, but they wouldn't let anyone enter the base with out a race number, so he had to get of the race course two miles to the finish and go get a security check to get on the base, and meet us at the finish line.
We all have sore muscles but me Crystal and Susie all have pretty bad sunburns that hurt worse than the muscles!! Next time we will apply lots more sunscreen!!!!! It was such a awesome experience and I loved it!! I know I say never again, but I just might do another one!! I couldn't have asked for any better of friends to run it with!! You guys rocked and I love you!!!!!

Stay tuned for pictures!! I will be posting them as soon as I get them down loaded, and get the ones Crystal took.
