Will That Make Me Grow?????

So this morning while getting the girls read for church I accidently sprayed Jocelyn will the hair spray. She then proceeded to say,
"Mom, will that make me grow?"
"No, honey." I say back.
"Oh, I wish it would" she says.
I then laugh and ask her if she really wishes she would grow.
"Yes"
I was laughing so hard. I think the poor girl wishes people would stop calling her small. She really takes after me in that area. Heck, when I was going into the 5th grade, I went school shopping with my mom. While at the checkout the lady looked at me and said, "Honey are you excited to go to Kindergarten?" I was mortified, looked and her and said, "I'm going into the 5th grade" and then walked off.
Jocelyn you will always be mommy, and daddy's little girl! We love you!!!

Life....

Life in the Moss household is soon to get busier. We will be adding baby number.......

We are really excited and so are the kids.
Due date March 6th, 2010

Jocelyn's First Day of Preschool

Jocelyn started pre-school a few weeks ago. I finally got the camera out yesterday to get the usual in front of the door first day of school picture. She is loving going to preschool. I was very happy that her teacher from last year decided to do it in her home for a few kids after a fire was set in her preschool building. She is doing great, and is already writing her name although she gets a few letters mixed up here and there.
It seems like I have less time with my children everyday! They grow way to fast!!!

Lake Powell 09

We were lucky enough to go to Lake Powell a few weeks ago. We had a lot of fun. We stayed with my cousins family from Germany on their house boat. I hadn't seen them is 8 or so years. It was great for the kids to meet and get to know them. The kids had a blast playing and goofing around in the water, and sand. We didn't want to leave, and wouldn't have if Cris didn't have to get back to work, and the kids to school.(they already missed the first two days of school.) We will definitely make sure we save more vacation days for next year and stay longer. Thanks for such a great time, and for making some great memories for us, Volker, Uschi, Jenny, Vanessa, and Corina!! We can't wait for next year.

Rainbow Bridge, and slot Canyons, Oh my!!!

The houseboat was only a 40 minute boat ride to Rainbow Bridge National Monument. So we took the quick ride, to go see it. It was beautiful, and so cool to see. To me it's so crazy how this was made. The native americans believe that it is bad luck to walk under it. There was even a sign asking to respect their wishes and not walk under it.
Cris and I holding up the bridge. Not the greatest picture of us, but funny.
On the way back to the houseboat, I got this beautiful picture of the sunset, and mountains. Also Cris and Kennedy are on one of the jet skis, and Steven, and Kaden on the other.
We went one morning to hike a slot canyon. We rode the jet skis until we got to the mouth of the canyon, and there was no more water then started to hike. It was a lot of fun but very tiring.  We hiked about 2 miles in and still never got out of the canyon. Matthew, my dad, and Volker finished hiking it out,(they went about a mile or two farther) and had a view of part of the lake. Along with hiking it also included swimming in some areas, and scaling large rocks. Not all of us went on the hike. (Those who went were, Steven, Maria, Matthew, my dad, Volker, Jenny, Vannessa, Corina, Kaden, Cris, and me) Kaden was the only kid who came with us, and boy was he tuckered out!!
It was so cool to walk through these canyons.
Kaden taking a break.
My dad, and Volker.

Sand and Sun Lake Powell Style

Cole and Jocelyn were our beach buddies. They loved playing on the beach, and the shallow water. Cole wouldn't even go near the end of the house boat, and the deep water. He would tell us "I can't touch!!!!"  I think he was scared because the life jacket really didn't hold him up. He would tip to the side, and swallow water. He did get a little braver towards the end, and would float on the big air mattresses as long as an adult was with him.
Cole loved trying to splash anyone near him, thanks to Grandma for teaching it to him.
Jocelyn was always ready for a turn and the tube, or jet ski. Here she is showing off her life jacket.
Cole would make mud with the sand, and play with it for hours.
Boys, will be boys. Steven and Matthew made a sand castle. They were just like little kids working hard. And if you got to close, you better not touch it, you'd get in trouble.
Kennedy hurried and sat on it when they weren't looking.
Jocelyn got buried by her two Uncles. I have a similar picture if me when I was little, but I wasn't enjoying it, I was crying. They love to torture.

Water Fun at Lake Powell

The kids and Cris had a blast playing in the water at Lake Powell. We taught Kennedy, and Kaden to knee board. They loved it and didn't want to stop!!! They both got up on their first try, and stayed up the whole time.
Andrew also enjoyed knee boarding.
Cris wake boarded a lot......
And also fell a lot. :) Ok so he didn't fall to much, but I got this one on camera.
We also jet skied a lot.
Jocelyn liked it the most and was always asking for rides.  Here she is with Jenny, and Corina
The kids also loved tubing, and didn't want to get off. Kennedy and Kaden discovered that it was fun to fall of the tube. They would do it on purpose, just so they could float around in the lake.

First Day of School

The kids had a great first week of school! Even though they missed the first few day because we went to Lake Powell they didn't miss much. Kennedy is in the 4th grade this year, and Kaden is in the 3rd.
Stay tuned for some pictures from Lake Powell!

Has It Really Been That Long??

Wow, it's been a month since I've posted anything! We have been really busy and enjoying the summer.
The kids did two sessions of swim lessons, and loved every bit of it. Cole on the other hand didn't do them. He's not much of a water fan, unless it's only a few inches deep. We've been to the pool here and there just to get out of the heat.
School starts on Monday, and the kids are pretty excited. I am too! I love having my kids at home, but I can't wait to get back into a routine, hopefully less fighting, and a cleaner house.(at least in the mornings.) I'm still not sure if I like the grade level schools that they changed to this year. We went and meet the kids teachers, and I don't know anything about them. I also am not to sure if I like that they will be going to different schools. They won't be able to walk together, see each other throughout the day, or get each others homework if one misses school. Jocelyn missed the deadline for Kindergarten by a week. I was a little sad that she wouldn't be going to school with most of her friends. But I'm sure that she will benefit from an extra year at home under her belt. She will be going to pre-school 4 days a week in the morning, and she can't wait!! Cole will be bored at home during that time I'm sure.
Our garden is growing like crazy!!(along with the weeds) We have enjoyed peas, beans, cucumbers, carrots, hopefully some corn soon(if the worms don't eat it all, anyone know how to get rid of them?), and of course Jocelyn is enjoying as many cherry tomatoes as she wants all to herself!!!!
Cris has been working a lot, which is good because come this winter, he may be working in Gallup. :( I haven't been doing much but wrangling kids and cleaning up their messes. Which I wouldn't change for anything in the world. We are looking forward to a small vacation to Lake Powell, where we will see my cousins from Germany I haven't seen in about 7 or 8 years. And the kids will finally get to meet them. We can't wait, to swim, water ski, wake board, jet ski, and just relax, and have fun in the sun!!
Just for fun here is a picture of Cole on his new bike he got for his birthday. Now if only he could figure out how to ride it without pushing the brake all the time. :)
