Disneyland: Family

In April we took the kids to Disneyland. Jocelyn's dance team was dancing there so we made a vacation out of it. To say the kids were excited was an understatement!!! We had a blast and can't wait to go again!!
These are a few family pictures that we took while at Disneyland.

Disneylany: Jocelyn Dances at Disney!!!

For many years the Winslow Stars has been performing at Disneyland, and California Adventure. One day they performed at Disneyland and then another day the did California Adventure. This girl sure loves to dance!!

Disneyland: Fun, Fun, Fun!!

More Disneyland fun! Benson loved the Tea cups. He asked for them all the time. He even would get into it and help turn the wheel.
My girls at the happiest place on earth!!

Benson in his 3-D glasses from the Bugs Life show. He loved all the bugs he saw in it!!
I had to take this picture because there are so many tears shed on the Ferris wheel from Cole, and tears from Jocelyn because she was to short to ride the roller coaster. She was so heart broken!! She needs to grow!!
One night we watched the World of Color show. We LOVED it!!!! One thing I would do over again is sit in the front. They said you would get wet up front and we didn't want the kids to get cold from it. So we sat one section back, and it was hard for the kids to see because they make everyone stand to watch. Cole and Jocelyn got the best seats in the house because they sat on Cris and I shoulders.

The air plane by Soaring was one of our meeting spots.

The Dumbo ride, and waiting in line for it. I think it was the longest ride we waited for!

The few pictures I got of Kennedy and Kaden on the rides. The second is of them waiting in line for the Indiana Jones ride. One of their favorites.

Disnyland: Characters, Characters, Characters

We had a blast meeting a few of the characters around Disneyland.
Let me put a disclaimer on this pics since they are mainly of the youngest three. We were the parents who let their 10 and 11 year old go wild in the park. AKA they went off on their own and meet up with friends.(since going with Jocelyn's dance team Kennedy had several girl friends that went and Kaden's best friend was there also) The only rule was that they had to stay together, and check in every couple of hours, and meet us for lunch and dinner. They had a blast and that also meant that they didn't have to do all the "kiddie" rides.
On the first day right when we walked in we saw Goofy.(one of my favs.) He was a hoot to watch sign autographs. He used peoples heads, backs, bellies. You name it.
Pluto had a hard time seeing over his nose to sign Jocelyn's book
 My little Mini with Mini.
 Meeting Mickey
Benson wouldn't get near him unless I was with him.

 Jake the Neverland Pirate
 The Incredibles Parade
The barber shop quartet by the Jolly Holiday Cafe. They came out singing and sang the whole time while people where getting pictures with them.(We heard that we had just missed Mary Poppins and Bert.)
Jocelyn with Sully. I love how small she looks. This was right after one of their dance performances and Cris was with all the other kids watching the Aladdin show.
Cris snapped this picture of Jocelyn with Handy Manny. He said that he just came up to Jocelyn gave her a hug, held her hand and just started walking with her. They walked several blocks before he stopped again to get more pictures with other people.

Disneyland: Cole the Scaredy Cat

Cole was a hoot to take on rides at Disneyland. This kid wanted nothing to do with any kind of roller coaster, anything that spinned, flipped, or twirled!! So basically any ride in the whole entire parks was off limits to this guy. Well not really. I did get him to go on Big Thunder Mountain once. He cried so hard, and the girls in front of us kept turning around and laughing at him. Is it bad that I got a good laugh out of it too? He was so happy to get to solid ground afterwards. He HATED the farris wheel as you can tell from the video below. Benson on the other had LOVED it. And the tea cups were ok to ride as long as we didn't spin them to much. On the last day Cris finally talked him into going on Splash Mountain. He said he did good until the final assent and he told Cris that he wanted to get out before they had to go down. Poor kid cried on that one too.
The sheer terror on his face in this picture is priceless!!
Here's a closer view, holding on for dear life!
He found a ride that he could handle! Dumbo, or course as long as dad didn't steer it up and down too much.
This kid was the happiest, at the happiest place on earth, as long as he was on solid ground!! Maybe next time we go he will like the rides more.

Disneyland: Princesses and Faries

Jocelyn was dying to visit the Princesses as soon as we got to Disneyland. We went on the second day there. Kennedy amused me and came along with us even though I'm sure she would have rather been with Cris riding rides. We waited in line at the Princess area for over a hour,(not to self, when we go again we will get in line EARLY in the morning to beat the crowds) but Jocelyn was in LOVE!!! Your able to see 3 princesses and you never know which ones you'll get. We saw Belle, Arora, and Mulan.

While walking around Cinderella's castle we were able to find her and get a quick picture with her. I loved the way she talked to the girls about how lucky they were to have each other and how she wished her and her sisters could be best friends like them. If only Cinderella knew how Jocelyn and Kennedy fight sometimes.
We waited in line to also see Tinkerbell. Funny thing is we didn't really know what we were waiting in line for at first. The sign said Pixie Hollow, but nothing else. We thought it was some kind of ride. Disneyland fail #1 Cris and the boys were thrilled. :). We found out what it really was after being in line for 15 minutes and just decided to wait the rest of the time. Plus it was in a nice and shaded area.
We met Fawn, Tinkerbell, and her friend(I can't remember his name.)

On Common Ground

Kennedy tried out for a play this spring was given a part as a pioneer girl. The play was called On Common Ground. It was written and produced by Kay Ricks.
Kennedy told us when she tried out that the reason she wanted to was, "to become famous and rich one day". Well, I sure hope she remembers us when she does!
The play was about the LDS pioneers who settled around Winslow. She had a ton of fun doing it and is looking forward to any other roles that may help her become "rich"

Jocelyn's Dance Team

Jocelyn had been asking for almost a year to join the Winslow Stars Dance Team. We finally broke down and let her do it. And to say she LOVES it is a understatment!!! She has had so much fun! She's danced in serveral competitions and various places including Disneyland!!(More on that to come.) She told us she was going to dance until she was to old to dance. She's such a goof!
(Jocelyn and her best friend Autumn. It's so nice that they get to dance together!)
(a shot of Jocelyn dancing at the Christmas parade in Winslow)
