Funny Things From Cole

Bringing a new baby into the home has been trying, yet pretty fun and entertaining. Cole says the funniest things to me, and I thought I'd better write them down before I forget them.

"Mom, do you still have another baby in your stomach?"
"No buddy, why?"
"Because your stomach is still really, really BIG!!!" (put the emphasis on BIG)

As I'm sitting on the couch feeding Benson.....
"Mom, Benson is biting you!!! Does it hurt"
Since this I have now confined myself to my room while nursing Benson, or covering up better.

As Cole was holding Benson.....
"Mom, he's sucking on his fingers, he's going to get milk out of them."

Who knows what he'll say next!!!
I have a feeling that these two will be the best of friends, and possible cause some trouble.....

Pine Wood Derby 10'

Cris, opps I mean Kaden had his first pine wood derby a few weeks ago. I'm not sure who had more fun building the car, Cris or Kaden. It turned out pretty good for their first car together. They worked on it for about a week. I should have taken pictures of them working on it together. It was really neat to see them work so hard on it, and have some one on one time together. Cris named it the El' Camino.
Kaden was so excited, and had a lot of fun racing it.
Here it is winning a race. Kaden came in 4th. He missed getting 3rd, by a hair!!!
All in all, he had a great time, and did awesome!!! He can't wait till next year. Cris and him already have some plans. Boys will be boys. :)

Benson Josef Moss

IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!
Benson Josef Moss was born on February 25th 2010 at 8:44. He weighed in at a whopping 7lbs. 11oz. and was 20 inches long.
I was so excited to meet our baby. Not knowing whether he was a boy or girl was really fun!!! The anticipation in the OR was killing Cris and I. When they pulled him out and said, "It's a boy!!" I really wasn't too surprised. We had been calling him a boy the whole time, so it just seemed fitting. He didn't have a name until later in the afternoon. I had thought of Benson just a few days before he was born, but just wasn't sure about it until we saw him. Josef is after my Grandpa Cziep. My Grandma was so excited that we spelled his middle name "the right way" Benson was our first c-section baby that didn't have to go to the special care nursery, and it was really neat to have him and Cris in the recovery room with me.
Benson is such a content baby.(now that I've said that he just might change his mind and get fussy:)) He sleeps really well at night anywhere between 3-4 hours between feedings, which is really nice!!! When he's awake he hardly fusses and just looks around. Out of all our kids he's been the best baby.
Here's some pictures of our sweet baby Benson.
Right after he was born, screaming like crazy.
Benson and I in the recovery room.
Cris lovin' the little guy.
The kids getting there first look at Benson. They were all so excited when we got home. Cole was jumping up and down in the window, but when we got in the house we couldn't find him. He went and hid behind the couch. I was so sad for him he's been the baby for the past 3 1/2 years. I couldn't lift him and I felt so bad. Cris was finally able to coax him to come out.
Cole's first look at Benson. It took him awhile to warm up. He didn't get to close to him for a while, and he wouldn't hold Benson until the next day.
Jocelyn and Grandma checking out Benson's little piggies.
The kids all had a turn holding him, and still have to hold him several times a day. He is well loved. Kennedy has even changed a few diapers.
He's so bright eyed!!
This has got to be my favorite picture I've taken of him by far!!!! He's a week old in it.
We are so thankful to have another healthy child!!! I'm so glad that I finally listened to Cris, and the spirit about bringing a new life into this world. We love Benson's sweet little spirit, and the joy he's brought into our home. We can't wait to see him grow up!!!

Time Flies!!!

Time sure has flown by this pregnancy. I can't believe that in 6 days we will be meeting our little one!!! The kids are really excited. At the beginning of the pregnancy we would ask Cole if he wanted a baby brother or sister, and he would say, "I don't want nothing" now if we ask him he says, "I want a brother so I can have Kennedy's room, it's bigger" He's been such a character lately.
We have been slowly getting ready to have another baby in the house. After having Cole I insisted that he was our last, and then proceeded to sale or give away every baby item we had. After Cris telling me for over a year that he felt like there was another baby waiting I felt the same thing. So now we are having to start all over. I won't complain to much though it has been fun buying a new crib,(new to us anyway. We were able to buy a used one that was in awesome condition from some friends of ours) car seat, swing, and any other baby items. With not knowing the sex it's been hard not buying clothes. We have one boy outfit, and girl outfit, and blanket. So at least He/She will be wearing something when coming home. I'm going to have to trust Cris to go shopping for some more necessities while I'm in the hospital. Which I'm sure he'll be pretty good at.
A name for this baby is still up in the air. Usually we've had names the moment we found out we were pregnant. But this time around has been difficult. We do have a girl name, but as far as a boy name, we can't agree on one. I'm afraid if it's a boy he will be "baby boy Moss" on his birth certificate.
The doctor thinks that the baby will be bigger than 8 pounds. I'm not too surprised since I have been measuring big all throughout the pregnancy. All I have to say is thank goodness for a c-section!!!
We all can't wait to meet this baby, and have the sweet spirit that a new baby brings into our home!! Look for a update, and pictures late next week.

P.S. By the way according to the poll I posted on the side bar the majority of you think that we will be having a girl.

Snow, Christmas, and A Few Other Things

I'm a little behind on updating the blog. I have been horrible at getting my camera out lately. I'm really trying to be better. Here are the few pictures I took around Christmas time.
A few days before Christmas it snowed, and the kids were in heaven. They had a ton of fun in the whole one inch we got.
Kaden with Chewie. I think that the dog might have liked the snow more than the kids did.
And speaking of dog, he's been a very bad one lately. Yesterday he escaped the fence twice, and once already today!!! Anyone have any suggestions on behavior problems with dogs? Sandy our German Shepard is very well behaved and listens to us. Chewie on the other had looks at us with a dumb expression on his face. We are looking into getting a shock collar with a perimeter fence. But because of the price of them it will be a month or two before we get it. So we need something in the mean time. I feel bad that every time he's taken outside he gets put on a leash, plus then he just barks at us to get off. Any way, back to the snow......
Cole actually liked the snow this year. He ate more than his fair share.
Jocelyn striking a pose
The kids all together. The snow only lasted a few hours. It melted by noon, but the kids had fun while it lasted.
Christmas was fun this year. I didn't get many pictures. I really like to enjoy watching my kids while they open their presents, and the fun expressions, and reactions from them. So I don't like to be behind the camera the whole time.
The kids when they came out of the hall to see what they got. Cole went straight for the stockings, and so I didn't get him in the picture.
Cole sitting on his new bean bag from Santa. He was so tired, but really excited.
The stockings, before the kids opened them.
The living room right after Santa came.
I told Cris on Christmas eve that the kids got really spoiled this year, after everything was put out. But I guess with four kids, there are bound to be oodles of presents under the tree.(Especially with 2 sets of Grandparents, and 2 Great Grandmas to spoil them) Kennedy's favorite is her roller blades, and MP3 player. Kaden's is his skateboard(which we hid behind the tree and was the last thing to be opened), and MP3 player. Jocelyn's is her kitchen set, and game boy. And Cole's is his remote control car, and woody doll, (or should I say action figure since he's a boy lol) Cris and I promised each other not to get anything for one another, besides stocking stuffers. But he didn't keep his promise(which didn't hurt my feelings at all) he got me a new Ipod Nano with $50 of Itunes, and a sewing machine. I can't wait to have the baby, and then go buy material and make a blanket, with it.(even though it may be one crooked looking blanket) And once this baby comes, and I'm running again, the Ipod will come in handy!!!!!
I hope that all you family and friends that read our blog had a very Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year. (it's ok that I'm almost a month late saying that right???????)

Cole in 2009

Cole has been our little spit fire this past year!!! He is such a daddy's boy, and constantly follows Cris around, and loves to help him do whatever he's doing. He also tells us the funniest things. He's defiantly the baby of the family, and I'm sure will have a hard time when the new baby comes. His favorite movie is "Jack the Pumpkin King" aka The Nightmare Before Christmas. He really gets into it, and can sing along with the songs word for word. He also loves to go for walks, play at the park, and tag around the older kids.
He loves washing the cars with daddy.
He learned to pee on rocks, trees, and anywhere else outside this year. I've found him outside many of times with his pants down, including on the front porch.
Chewie is his best friend, and they run circles around the house chasing each other.
He loves to play in sand, and mud!!! Lake Powell was perfect for him!!!
I bet in 2010 will be even more fun with Cole fun personality!!!

Jocelyn in 2009

Jocelyn was such a joy this year!! I think that something magical happens when a child turns 5. She is full of spunk and way too much energy!! She was really sad when she couldn't go to school this year because she missed the deadline by a week. But I'm really happy that she did! It's been so nice having her home and teaching her some preschool basics. Her and Cole love to play, and have a lot of fun together.(They also fight too) Hopefully she will grow this year. She's 5 and wears 3T pants, and 4T shirts. She doesn't let her size fool anyone though!!!!
She learned to ski this year, and did better than Kennedy and Kaden!!! Her instructor said that she was a natural, and she loved going up the chairlift to the big hill.
Jocelyn loved the jet skis at Lake Powell, and begged anyone for a ride. And any of her older german cousins would take her in a heart beat.
She loved fishing at Big Lake, but only for a few minutes.
We went to the Lowell Observatory, and she loved looking through the telescope. (This is the telescope that discovered Pluto)
It was her first year doing a cheer clinic and she loved it!!!
Jocelyn hopes to have more fun with her friends in 2010!!!
