The Circus

The circus came to town!! It was a really windy, cold day but we went anyway. The kids had a lot of fun, and were really excited when we told them they could ride the elephants. Kennedy had a birthday party that night so we let Kaden bring his best friend Austin.
First stop were the elephants. The kids loved riding them. Cole didn't want to get near them at first but Cris put him on it anyway, and then he couldn't stop talking about how cool it was.
Cole and Jocelyn rode the train.
We saw some tight rope walkers....
A crazy guy who fit himself into a small box...
This guy did the slack rope(I think that's what it's called) His act was really cool!

The elephants were the hit of the show and were really cool to see!
We also saw some acrobats, bicyclists, jugglers, and one crazy funny clown.

YAY!! The Fence is Done!!!

Cris has been working hard to finish some stuff around our house. We're happy to say that the fence is finished!!!! I could not be happier. I no longer have to worry about the kids playing in our exposed back yard. And they are more that happy about it too!
Here is the view on the side of the house.
A bigger side view.
And a view from the back. This was A LOT of fence, and A LOT of work!!!
Now on to the next few projects......replanting the grass in the back yard.(no matter how much we watered it last year it died. We were really sad!) Painting the house, and planting the garden! Cris has a long "honey do list"

The Derby

This year was Kadens second Pine Wood Derby. He had a lot of fun making his car this year! He placed 5th overall.
Here's the competition all lined up and ready to go in "the pit"
I got a little hungry while taking a picture of Kaden's car and just had to have a bit of chocolate.
Let the races begin!!! Kaden lost his first race but came back strong for the rest.
He got the "most realistic" award.
And of course Cole had to get in on the fun and make a car too. I think that he had more fun eating the "tires"(donuts) for dessert.
Here's my handsome boys after the derby showing off their cars. We can't wait till next year!!!

Matthew and Jordyn's Wedding

Funny thing about this blog post is that it's titled Matthew and Jordyn's wedding and I didn't even get a single picture of them or any of the wedding for that matter. But that was the reason for our visit to wintery Idaho. We even visited with lots of friends and family but I didn't get any pictures of that either. I'm kinda bummed about it. But there is always next time.
We had a great time, and it didn't take long for the kids to unpack their winter coats, gloves, and hats out to go play in the snow. While the kids were out playing I was busy baking. My mom and I made cookies for 3 days straight for the wedding reception. I was so sick of baking, but definatly not sick of eating them. LOL I think I gained 10 pounds while on our little vacation.
I sent Cris out to get some pictures of the kids in the snow since we don't get much here.
They made this cute little snow man.
And played for hours. They got so wet, but it didn't slow them down a single bit!!
Benson dicovered the dryer while we were busy cooking, and I had to stop to get some pics. He was pretty proud of himself for getting up into it.
We were able to go skiing at Targhee while we were there. It snowed on us, but we still had a blast. The kids did really good skiing. My brother David really helped Jocelyn and after about a hour she was a pro!!! Kennedy and Kaden did good too!! It was Cris' first time skiing(he usually boards) He really enjoyed it, and I think we may have turned him into a skier. Cole, and Benny boy enjoyed a day with Oma. And in return I think Oma enjoyed it too.
Here we all are in front of the ski shop we rented our skis from.
