I Am

I got this fun post from my friend Rachel's blog. She is such a great writer and so creative. It was lots of fun to think of everything to write. Thanks for the inspiration Rachel!! And anyone else who wants to do it feel free to copy and paste it.

I AM...
i am: a wife, mother, daughter, chef, chauffeur and the list can go on and on....
i think: I should be better at cleaning my house
i know: that I am a daughter of god and he loves me.
i want: my kids to succeed in all they do.
i have: 4 wonderful kids and loving husband.
i wish: we could be debt free and live with out a care
i hate: it when Cris works at night, it's really lonely
i miss: having my family close buy.
i fear: for my kids, that something will happen to them, they will choose the wrong path. All I can do is teach them what's right.
i feel: like eating a big ice cream sundae
i hear: Cole playing near me, Jocelyn wanting a snack, Cris playing Halo, and the older two watching them.
i smell: a midnight pomegranate wall flower from bath and body works.
i crave: warm cinnamon rolls. Cris has been wanting me to make them for weeks now but i just haven't had the time. I even got a recipe from my cousin Michelle that will be put to good use one day soon.
i search: for my hair brush every day. Cole likes to run off with it.
i wonder: if I can think of something for all of these I's.
i regret: nothing that I can think of.
i love: to watch Cris play with the kids. He's such a great daddy.
i ache: after a good workout, but it's a good ache. :)
i care: about the well being of others.
i always: check on my kids before I go to bed, and make sure they are breathing.
i am not: crafty, i try to be but I'm not. I'm not a good decorator either.
i BELIEVE: in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints.
i dance: when my kids do. It's fun to spin and act like a wild monkey.
i sing: when my kids do, they don't care if I'm off tune. If I tried out for American Idol I'd be the one they make fun of.
i cry: when I'm proud of my kids, when they get hurt, and when they cry.
i don’t always: fold my laundry. It's a bad, bad habit!!!
i fight: for the right to PARTY!! (this is the first thing that came to my mind. Lame I know.)
i write: to remember...
i win: because i have a beautiful family!!!
i lose: at any game I play with Cris (I think he cheats)
i never: clean the bath tubs. Cris does
i confuse: my kids names. "KenJocCol, I'm mean Kaden come here!!!"
i listen: to Cris's hard rick music while running, it pumps me up!!
i can usually be found: Out running everyday. Whether it be outside or at the gym.
i am scared: the same as I fear.
i need: a nap every day.
i am happy about: marrying Cris, living where we live, and having four wonderful beautiful children. I can't imagine doing it with anyone else.

It's Been A While

It's been a while since my kids have graced the pages of our blog. They had a four day weekend so we've been relaxing at home. (the school district plans two or three snow days into the schedule every year, they never take them so we end up getting a three of four day weekend a month before schools out.) Today was such a nice day and by nice I mean no wind and sunny 75 degree weather. So I whipped out the camera after we went to Kaden's t-ball game and we ate our PB&J on our patio. Here are so pictures I took. (and when I mean some i mean alot!!)
I love the sky in the back ground of this picture! I can't wait till our summer sunsets!

Don't ya just love the trampoline hair! Cole wouldn't get near the trampoline hence he is not in the picture. And yes, Jocelyn has her shoes on backwards.

She takes after her dad. :)

I make myself present on the blog once again. Cole looks nothing like me, except the brown eyes.
They were being goof balls.

Hey what's over there?

I didn't need to give Jocelyn a bath, Sandy took care of it.

Our gourmet dinner of PB&J with chips and soda. Yum!(can you tell Cris was at work.;))

I can't wait for the warm summer nights to start!! We stay out till 9 or 10 and enjoy every minute of it. After taking all these pictures I realized Jocelyn had no pants on. They joys of a three year old. Thank goodness all the pictures of her are from waist up. How could i not tell you ask. She had on a long shirt.
P.S. my workout today consisted of a 3 mile sprint run and abs.

A Little Bit of Everything

I've been busy the past few days and haven't been able to post my workouts. So I guess I'll start there. On Thursday I didn't do anything I was just to lazy!! Cris was home in the morning so we hung out. I don't have the umph to workout in the afternoon, plus the kids both had a baseball game. I was at the little league fields from 4 till almost 7. Needless to say we had PB and J for dinner. On Friday i attempted to go to the gym with all four kids. (they didn't have school) They did well, and I did 45 minutes on the elliptical and attempted to lift my arms but Cole was to crabby by then, so I headed home. And for my workout today...... Drum roll please......... We ran 18 miles!!!!! Woohoo. My legs are so tired, I'm starving, and I need a nap. Other than that I feel great.
The kids have been doing great in t-ball and softball. Kennedy's team has only lost one game, and she sure can hit the ball. The girls do fun chants when the others are batting. Well, Kennedy is the smallest on her team and they sing to her, "She's got peewee power, she may be small, but she can hit that ball, she's got peewee power!" She gets the cutest look on her face when they sing it and gets a little embarrassed. Kaden's team is doing good too, but in tball everyone wins. Kaden is a good little catcher and hits the ball pretty good. I love watching my kids do good. Ya gotta love those proud mommy moments!!!

Wednesday's Workout

Today we woke up bright and early and headed out for our run around 5. We did 9.5 miles. It was a good run!!
I'm kind of frustrated cause I've gained 3 pounds. I never weigh myself we don't have a scale which is a good thing. I'm thinking it's muscle mass. Or maybe its the fact that I eat lots of cookies, candies, ice cream, and all that jazz, all after 8 p.m. (If I want to eat it in peace I wait till the kids go to bed. That's when my bowl of ice cream or candy bar tastes best cause I don't have four kids crowding around wanting some) So my new goal is to not eat past 8 p.m. I don't want to diet, just control my habits. I eat at night because Cris works at night sometimes and I eat out of boardem. I'm done with my little spill. And speaking about loosing the weight go to The Pony Tail Challenge she has a 1 pound weight lose and getting rid of old stuff challenge this week, and it's a prize challenge!!

Tuesday's workout and Beware!!

Today we ran close to four miles outside and then lifted our legs.

Now for the beware part of my post. I got this friendly email from the IRS. In it, it said something along the lines of getting a tax refund of $168.48. I was thinking man, I know that our rebate check should be more than that. In the email it had a link for me to click on. So I did and it then proceeded to ask to enter our SSN and bank information so they can direct deposit the money. This got me a bit fishy. So I didn't fill it out, and got on the IRS website. I found a link for info on the rebate checks that will be going out the beginning of May. I went there and found some info on fraudulent emails going out that was exactly like the one I received. To get your rebate money you DO NOT need to fill out anything. If you filled your taxes they have all the info need, and your money will be direct deposited into accounts starting May 2, or a check will be mailed to you a few weeks after. So moral of the story don 't fill out that info if you've received a email! It's people trying to get your bank info!! The email looked legit, and the link you click on takes you to a web site that looks just like the IRS's!! BEWARE!!!!!

My Poor Girls!

Jocelyn and Kennedy are sick. I hate it when my kids are sick. Jocelyn woke up at 5:30 this morning complaining of her stomach hurting. Being the tired mom I was I kept telling her to go back to bed, and that her stomach hurt because she didn't eat dinner last night. Fast forward to 7:30. She wouldn't eat breakfast, but drank some sprite. Not two minutes later I was catching puke, yup, catching it in my hands. Gross! My instincts kicked in, I didn't want it all over the carpet, and I could just tell she wouldn't make it to the garbage or the bathroom. So I in turn had to run to the bathroom with puke in my hands. And no matter how many times I have washed them I can still smell it. Oh, the joys of motherhood! Kennedy hasn't thrown up yet but I have a feeling it's coming soon. She has a headache and stomach ache. Right now my poor babies are in my bed watching Dora, and trying not to throw up. I sure hope that no one else gets this bug!
P.S. Since I have sick girlies, and my hubby is at work there will be no Monday workout post. :(

Saturday Training

Are my loyal blog readers in suspense of weather or not I did my long run today? I'm proud to say that I did it!! We ran 16 miles!!! For those of you from Winslow we ran from Jenn and Susie's house to a half mile past Clear Creek and back. And I'll tell ya what those hills killed! And I'm crazy to be saying this but it was fun. I may be a bit sore but can't wait to do the next long run.

Marathon Training

I'm in need of getting my rear end in gear for my marathon coming up on June 1st. So I thought that I would post some what of a training log, to keep me going. So I will be posting every day,(If I get to it) what my workout was that morning. So to get started I will tell ya what I've done so far this week.
Monday: Since I hurt my knee on my long run Saturday I keep it easy, and did a 1 mile run, 30 minutes of intervals on the elliptical and 20 minutes on the stair stepper.
Tuesday: 6 mile run outside
Wednesday: Weights on my legs, and a 2 mile sprint run
Today: 6 mile run on the treadmill
I should be running more during the week. So by writing this down I'm hoping it will help me. Sorry if I bore you all with these posts. We are hoping to do a 15 mile run Saturday morning. Woohoo! Wish us luck!

I Won! I Won! I Won!!

I never win anything. I always buy raffle tickets from the cute little kids who are selling them, or in for the car drawing, and all that jazz. But this time I won! It was simple too. All I had to do was a challenge. What might this challenge be? Well, Camille, a friend from elementary school on up set up this fun blog, The Pony Tail Challenge. You can find the link on my friends and family side bar. Every weeks she posts a new fun challenge. I won the pony tail one. Now, ladies I did fail, But I rose to the challenge of keeping my hair out of a pony tail for a week. Yes, that means 7 days, 168 hours, 10,0080 minutes, 604,800 seconds, or how ever you want to put it. (of course that is if I did the math right, I lost my brain two kids ago) I only made it six days, but a girl doesn't have much to work with when shes out camping, so I had to put it up.(it was in two ponies so it did take a little more effort.) I challenge you all to go to her blog, and have some fun. You don't have to know her, the more the merrier.
Buy the way I won a gift certificate from Bath and Body Works.

Take Me Out To The Ball Game!!

Take me out to the park
Buy me some peanuts and crackerjacks
I don't care if I ever get back
For it root root root for the home team
If they don't win its a shame
For it's 1,2,3 strikes your out
At the ol' ball game!!!
I'm not sure if I got that right.

Can you guess what time of year it is? It's little league season! The kids each had their first game yesterday. They had such a fun time and did good!!! Kaden missed the deadline by a few weeks to play fast pitch baseball, so it's his third year of t-ball. If you ask him if he likes it he will say yes, but everyone on his team is little. Kennedy however gets to play fast pitch softball. I'm so excited for her!
Here are some pictures of their first games.
Kaden running to first

He made it!!

Kennedy practicing her swing.

On base!

Our little left fielder

I was so happy and proud for both of them. Since Kennedy moved up a year she had 10 year olds on her team, and are a bit more competitive. We really didn't know weather or not she would play, but she played half the game. She even got on base both times she hit!! Yea!!! We are looking forward to see them play and learn more about the game this year.
On a side note, the wind is back :(

Too Many Kids

I had to write this down before I forget. While out camping with Tim and Steph a week ago Kennedy was hanging out in their trailer and told Steph, " You guys are lucky you only have two kids. We have four and thats just too many."
Man, the things kids say.

Dear Kristen

Click on the picture to see clearly.
Am I a mean Mom or what! Now that you've seen one side of the story here's mine.
Kennedy and Kaden have been fighting a lot lately. Well the other day While driving home from school(I know its only a block, but I was still in my jammies) They started to fight. So I gave them a warning,"If you guys don't' stop your fighting you will go to bed and stay there the rest of the night." Apparently they weren't listening. ( That's not a surprise.)Ten minutes later they were fighting AGAIN!!! Apparently Kaden scratched Kennedy so she scratched back. This then caused yelling lots and lots of it!! So off to bed they went, which then caused more screaming than I have ever heard before. (My ears have still not recovered) Don't' worry they didn't stay in bed all night after all it was about 3:30 when all this happened. They stayed for about 20 minutes then got out to do chores and then stayed another 20 minutes.
Fast forward to yesterday. Cris found this cute little letter in Kennedy's room. Apparently she was in bed for ever!! Now I know what she was doing when she had the note book and pen in hand while in bed. Which was told to be thrown on the floor because we are in time out and time out should not be fun. I thought she was coloring not writing a letter to her best friend. I'm in for it if she is already this emotional about stuff. After all she was the one kicking and screaming all the way to her room, and slammed the door.
I'm not looking forward to the teenage years.

My New Do

I got my hair cut today. What ya'll think.

These pictures aren't the best. I tried having Cris take some. Can you say the camera adds ten pounds! Therefore I took my own. I really like it, and hope I can do it in the morning. For some reason I can never recreate what the stylist does. I will now be pony tail free!! I feel so liberated! Yea to a new do to make me feel beautiful again!!!

Please Stop!!

Does this picture say it all. Kinda. Look at the wind blowing through Cole's hair. This picture was taken out camping last weekend and the wind hasn't stopped since. I only have 6 words for my Winslow friends " Is it ever going to stop!!!!" I know it will but I'm so sick of it! My kids are going to blow away playing out side, walking to school , at softball practice, at well you get the point. April please get over fast so we can have some wind free days again. Ugh and don't get me started on the allergies!!
60 mile per hour wind gusts are not fun! I warn you all to tie down anything in your yard! Our trampoline has blown away 3 times in the past year before we learned our lesson! It even went through the wood fence.

Camping at Long Lake

First Camping Trip of theYear!!

We went on our first camping trip this past Friday and Saturday. We went with Tim and Steph and Randy.(Randy's wife had to to homework for her class she's taking and we are too cool for his 18 year old:))We went Long Lake. The kids had a lot of fun! We didn't leave until 4:30 Friday afternoon so we got there at about 6. We camped about 200 yards from the lake. After starting a fire and getting the tinfoil dinners ready we just sat around the camp fire. Cris and Randy brought there guitars and serenaded us while the food was cooking in the fire. After eating we did the usual campfire thing and made smores. Yummy!! The kids went to bed really good, and I was able to relax by the fire without worrying that someone would fall in. We had a small heater Cris' dad gave it but it really didn't put out too much heat. I covered the kids in blankets, hoping they would say warm which they did, it was I who got cold. I even slept in my warm jammies a t-shirt and a sweatshirt. Cris said he got hot, and I was worried about Cole so he slept on our bed on our side of the tent trailer. Our tent trailer is old and Cris bought it for $700. I think it would keep the heat in better if it was in better condition. But it works and is better than a tent. Tim and Steph have a tent trailer too. (Our's is nice but theirs is nicer :)LOL) Now Cris wants to get a newer one that is a little bigger. I agree it would be nice to get a bigger one, but it will be a while before that happens. Friday night we heard some coyotes calling. One sounded like it was right outside the door of our trailer.
We woke up on Saturday morning and the guys and kids wanted to fish right away. So we all went fishing before breakfast. I got really windy and Cole was cranky so I went back to camp and started to clean up. We made a yummy breakfast inside the trailer, and packed up and then headed home. We were going to stay all day Saturday but it was way to windy and too miserable to sit in the trailer with the kids. It was so much fun and i can't wait for it to get a little warmer and we can go again. Next time we are going to go to Bear Canyon.
I love the warmer weather!!! Enjoy the slide show of pictures! I took a ton.

Kennedy

I loved the way Kennedy's hair looked in this picture! So white and pretty. She hates it when I curl it. The poor girl got strait as nails hair. This picture was taken on Easter Sunday. She cried as I was curling it. That's one trait she got from me. I remember my mom doing my hair and crying cause I didn't want too. (I also remember my dad doing my hair a few times when my mom worked nights at a hospital. I would go to church with crooked pony tails and my Grandma Clark would fix them. Thanks Grandma)
What also made me post this picture was our friend Randy was over getting his hair cut (not by me but by Cris. He doesn't trust me with the scissors but that's another story) He said that his wife and him were sitting in the classroom one day eating lunch, and they saw this flash of white go by the window, and they knew it was Kennedy. He said you can look out her window at school and pick Kennedy out of a crowd. Too funny. I love her hair and I hope it stays this color.
