Disneyland: Cole the Scaredy Cat

Cole was a hoot to take on rides at Disneyland. This kid wanted nothing to do with any kind of roller coaster, anything that spinned, flipped, or twirled!! So basically any ride in the whole entire parks was off limits to this guy. Well not really. I did get him to go on Big Thunder Mountain once. He cried so hard, and the girls in front of us kept turning around and laughing at him. Is it bad that I got a good laugh out of it too? He was so happy to get to solid ground afterwards. He HATED the farris wheel as you can tell from the video below. Benson on the other had LOVED it. And the tea cups were ok to ride as long as we didn't spin them to much. On the last day Cris finally talked him into going on Splash Mountain. He said he did good until the final assent and he told Cris that he wanted to get out before they had to go down. Poor kid cried on that one too.
The sheer terror on his face in this picture is priceless!!
Here's a closer view, holding on for dear life!
He found a ride that he could handle! Dumbo, or course as long as dad didn't steer it up and down too much.
This kid was the happiest, at the happiest place on earth, as long as he was on solid ground!! Maybe next time we go he will like the rides more.

Disneyland: Princesses and Faries

Jocelyn was dying to visit the Princesses as soon as we got to Disneyland. We went on the second day there. Kennedy amused me and came along with us even though I'm sure she would have rather been with Cris riding rides. We waited in line at the Princess area for over a hour,(not to self, when we go again we will get in line EARLY in the morning to beat the crowds) but Jocelyn was in LOVE!!! Your able to see 3 princesses and you never know which ones you'll get. We saw Belle, Arora, and Mulan.

While walking around Cinderella's castle we were able to find her and get a quick picture with her. I loved the way she talked to the girls about how lucky they were to have each other and how she wished her and her sisters could be best friends like them. If only Cinderella knew how Jocelyn and Kennedy fight sometimes.
We waited in line to also see Tinkerbell. Funny thing is we didn't really know what we were waiting in line for at first. The sign said Pixie Hollow, but nothing else. We thought it was some kind of ride. Disneyland fail #1 Cris and the boys were thrilled. :). We found out what it really was after being in line for 15 minutes and just decided to wait the rest of the time. Plus it was in a nice and shaded area.
We met Fawn, Tinkerbell, and her friend(I can't remember his name.)

On Common Ground

Kennedy tried out for a play this spring was given a part as a pioneer girl. The play was called On Common Ground. It was written and produced by Kay Ricks.
Kennedy told us when she tried out that the reason she wanted to was, "to become famous and rich one day". Well, I sure hope she remembers us when she does!
The play was about the LDS pioneers who settled around Winslow. She had a ton of fun doing it and is looking forward to any other roles that may help her become "rich"

Jocelyn's Dance Team

Jocelyn had been asking for almost a year to join the Winslow Stars Dance Team. We finally broke down and let her do it. And to say she LOVES it is a understatment!!! She has had so much fun! She's danced in serveral competitions and various places including Disneyland!!(More on that to come.) She told us she was going to dance until she was to old to dance. She's such a goof!
(Jocelyn and her best friend Autumn. It's so nice that they get to dance together!)

December 2011

We had a busy and fun December. Between the kids extra activities and all the other things we did it flew right past us!
We went to the Santa Train that we go to every year with the kids. Kennedy and Kaden played along well, and didn't complain about having to get their picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Clause. Soon they will no longer amuse us or the younger kids.
We got a little snow this year, so I built a snow man with the kids. To bad he melted within a few hours. But they had fun anyway.
Winkle visited us again this year and got the kids matching jammies.
Christmas Eve. The kids were spoiled like they always are. I don't think a single present under the tree was for either Cris or I.(We don't normally get each other anything but stocking stuffers. We like to spend the extra money on the kids instead)
Christmas morning after church the kids had to pose for a picture. Benny was way to ready for a nap. I loved having Christmas on Sunday this past year. We loved being able to go to church and feel the spirit and remind ourselves what Christmas is all about.

Halloween 2011

We had a great Halloween. I made all the kids costumes this year. I had a lot of fun doing them, probably since they were really simple to do.
Our girls went as Alice and the Red Queen

Kaden went as a nerd. Which didn't require much of a costume since he already is one.

Cole was a scary robber. Simplest costume ever!!! I just painted stripes on a white shirt, put on a black beanie, and made a quick mask out of felt.
Benson was a little mummy. We just wrapped him up in cheese cloth.

My cute kiddos all ready to trick or treat!

Jocelyn Turns 7

Jocelyn turned 7 last September. She's grown so much, and such a joy in our home. She is always will to help out in any way that she can. We sure love our baby girl.
She got a bike for her birthday.
And then had a fun party with her friends. They played red rover, duck, duck, goose, and then took over my kitchen and made a huge mess decorating cupcakes.
