A Funk

Have you ever been in a funk? That's where I've been lately. I feel like all I've done is cook, clean, and all that jazz. We haven't done much to report or to update the blog with. We are loving the warmer weather spring is bringing and the kids are too!! They are outside constantly and boy does that make my job easier! The kids had parent teacher conference yesterday. I'm happy to report that they are both doing really well!!! As always Kennedy is still struggling with her reading though. They are happy that spring break is coming up next week. We won't be doing anything fun, maybe just working in the yard and getting the garden area ready.

Here are some pictures I took when we took the kids to the Lowell Observatory a few weeks ago for FHE. They had a ton of fun looking at the moon, and the museum. I had some fun editing these pictures in photoshop with some actions I downloaded.

The kids in front of a piece of the meteor rock that formed the Meteor Crater just outside of Winslow.

The old historic Clark Telescope and the kids looking in it.

Don't ask me how some of this ended up being underlined and in different colors. I'm so computer dumb that I can't figure out how to fix it. :)

Winter Vacation in Idaho

Vacation

We took off last week for a small winter vacation to Idaho. The kids had a four day weekend for the holiday, so we took advantage of it. The kids had a blast!! We had gotten a few inches of snow the day we left, the kids were so bummed to leave the snow, and kept asking if there would be snow in Idaho. We got a good laugh out of that. On our way out of town we saw this:
Only in Arizona would you see a snow plow with it's plow down, plowing nothing.
We drove to Beaver, and stayed the night there. The next morning we took our time and got ready to drive the rest of the way. We stopped in Tremonton, and saw our good friend James, and meet his wife and 2 kids. We had a really good time, and hope to make it a usual pit stop. Then off to Blackfoot we went.
The next day, Cris, his dad, and Kaden went ice fishing. They caught 12 fish, but let them all go. The next day they went again, but I went with them, and took the rest of the kids. Cole wouldn't even get out of the car, and Jocelyn went out for just a few minutes before she gave up to the cold. They only caught 1 fish that day, and they wished that they had kept the ones from the day before. I have decided that whoever thought that ice fishing was fun, is crazy!!! We also went and visited Cris' friend Jade, and my friend Tanae.
After a few days at Cris' parents house we headed to my parents house. While there the kids played in all the snow and my dad helped them build a snow cave. He told them they had to sleep in it. :) On Presidents day, we all went up to Grand Targhee to go skiing. The kids went to the ski school in the morning, while us adults took turns watching Cole, and going skiing. Jocelyn was our star skier!! The instructor told us she was a natural. She even went up the big hill several times, while Kennedy and Kaden stayed on the little hill. The kids loved it!!! They keep talking about wanting to go again. We hope to take them to Snow Bowl soon.
We also got to stop by and see Gram/Oma a few times. She even made us a yummy lunch the day we left. And Grandma Clark made us raspberry cheesecake, and gave us some of her yummy homemade raspberry jam. (which I left. :( thank goodness my mom will bring it with them when they come visit in April)
We stayed the night at Cris' sisters house. They had gotten 2 feet of snow that day!!! We hot tubbed it that night. Those who were crazy enough did snow angels in the freshly fallen snow.
On our way home we took a small detour through Hurricane Utah, and picked up our newest family member.

Basketball Season

Kaden is playing basketball again this year. And again, Kennedy had not desire to. He loves it and is a really good player. He's even made a few baskets, but I didn't catch them in time with my camera.
I think what he likes most about it is, that his daddy plays basketball too, so he can be just like dad.

Arizona Dirt Sledding

We took the kids sledding up in Flagstaff last Wednesday with our good friends Josh and Susie and their kids. The kids had a blast!!! On our way home I joked to Cris that is should have been called Arizona dirt sledding. When we showed up we asked the guy how much we needed to pay. We had heard that it was $10 but he only charged us $5. Cris asked him if it was half snow half price day. Lol It was such a warm day, we all ended up sledding without our gloves, or even coats. After sledding we went to the new Aquaplex to swim, and we had just as much fun!!! Here are a bunch of pictures of all us us sledding.

READY

SET,

GO!!!!

Susie after she had a wipe out

This is why I like to call it Arizona dirt sledding. There was a bigger hill that the kids wanted to go down. We only let the older kids attempt fate and go down it on one sled(they took turns). Now as you look at the next few pictures it may look like there is some very dirty snow, but it was mostly dirt. And it was very compact and hard.
Double click on this picture to make it bigger and look at the expression on Kennedy's face. I love it!!!
Austin

Kaden, I love how he just happened to turn and look at the camera just as he was zooming by me.

In other news, Cole is potty trained!!!! No more diapers!!!! I'm doing the happy dance. Anyone care to join me?

Summary of our Week

Lat week just flew by!! We didn't do much.
The kids brought home their report cards.
KADEN got one B and the rest were A's. He also starts Basketball today, he is to excited!!
KENNEDY is still struggling with her reading and has a C, but everything else were A's and B's.(Any suggestions to help her reading grade would be much appreciated!!) She had a fun and eventful weekend spent at her friend Kali's house. We didn't see her for 2 days!!! She even went sledding up in the mountains. After which I decided our kids are defiantly not Idaho kids. They have no snow pants, just thin gloves, and no hats. How sad is that. The poor girl said she froze but luckily they built a bon fire and had plenty of hot chocolate. Besides being cold she said she loved sledding. We defiantly want to take the kids, but we'll have to buy the gear first.
What else happened last week.
Well I only got to the gym once, I've decided to run another half marathon, it's the Disney land one, it's in Sept. We've decided to make a family vacation out of it and take the kids!!I'm so excited to take them to Disney Land, not to mention that I've never been. I'm starting a photography class at the local college, it's on day a week from 6-10 p.m. I can't wait to learn how to take better pictures!!
I've also decided to try and potty train COLE. Ha, we'll see if that lasts long. He screams at the toilet, but laughs at it too. It's amazing what he says on a daily basis!! He talks so good!!
CRIS got bumped from his job, and is now trying to hang on here in Winslow so he won't have to go to Gallup or travel far like several of our friends have. It hasn't been this bad in years!! :(
JOCELYN is still loving preschool, and has a blast the two days a week she goes. And she asks every day if she can have a friend come play. Man, that girl is social. :)
That's all that's going on right now!

SNOW!!!!!

It snowed Saturday night(about a couple of inches, but we'll take it!!) and the kids were so excited!! Since we don't have church until 1 (which is a big pain!) They went out in the back yard to play. I got some great shots of them!!(or at least I think I did) They really captured the moments!! They had so much fun!!!

This was Cole, nice and warn sitting in the living room. He fell down a couple of times, and decided snow wasn't for him.
