Spring Break Fun

The kids had spring break the past week. We really didn't do anything to exciting. But I thought I'd post a few pictures of what we did do.
On Monday when I got home from the gym Cris had the kids ready for a day of fun in the sun! He packed a picnic lunch, and we drove to Flagstaff to one of our favorite parks. It was so much fun and the kids had a blast. (It's so pretty up there)
Cole and Cris walking to the kiddy play area

It was such a beautiful sunny day! Kennedy couldn't keep her eyes open while taking the picture.

Cole loved the watermelon.

So did Jocelyn she had a mouthful

We tried to fly kites on Tuesday, but apparently the Easter Bunny shouldn't have been so cheap and bought better kites. (they were only $1 so what do ya expect!) So we went to the store on Thursday and used the Easter money Oma sent and got better kites. They had so much fun flying them. Unfortunately I didn't take my camera so there are no pictures of them flying away. It also pretty much stopped blowing when we got to the park so they didn't fly for too long. (They defiantly would fly today, in fact the kids would probably fly away with the 60MPH wind gusts we have. Thankfully Cris tied the trampoline down when he fixed it from it's last flight across the yard.. Just call us Windblow not Winslow!!)
The kids have been taking advantage of no school. They have gotten to stay up late every day this week watching movies. The favorite on has been Enchanted. It's such a cute show and Kennedy will tell you her favorite part is when the squirrel pooped. Silly Girl!!!
Here they all are in their makeshift bed in the computer room. Cole would even lay down and watch for alittle bit. Boy would he get mad when he had to go to bed.

That's about all the excitement we had this week. I even took advantage of them being home, and made it to the gym everyday this week! (except Friday) They came with me when Cris was at work and stayed in the kids room. I'm really trying to get my butt in gear and train harder for my marathon coming up on June 1st. Only about 8 weeks left!!!

Easter Fun

What a Busy Weekend!!

We had a fun and busy weekend. My Mom and Dad came to visit and got here on Friday night. The kids were so excited to see them!! They kept asking "When will grandma and grandpa get here." As soon as they got here my dad and Cris went strait to Tim and Steph's house to figure out what they needed to do to start on putting in a sprinkler system. They actually started that night. All day Saturday they spent putting the rest of it in. Poor Tim was trenching the back yard, and hit their sewer line three times. They pretty much replaced the whole thing. But they got it all up and running, I'm sure they are excited to plant grass in a few weeks.
While my Dad, and Cris were busy doing the sprinklers we took the kids to the annual Easter egg hunt. They hunted empty eggs, and then traded them in for a goodie basket fulled with junk that eventually made it into the garbage can when no one was looking. (don't get me wrong they had fun, but I don't need a bunch of junky toys that fall apart in two seconds, and then a kid has a breakdown. I fact one of Kaden's toys broke and Kennedy told him that it was made in China that's why. Silly girl, but oh, so true!!)
My Mom made some yummy BBQ ribs in the crock pot, and after dinner we showed my parents who to play the Wii, and Rock band. It was really entertaining to watch them box, drum, and rock out.
On Sunday we had a great time at church and primary was wild!! The Sunbeams had way to much Easter candy or something, and no one sat still, and were very noisy!! My mom and dad took some really good pictures of us, and the kids in their Easter clothes.( I hate the way I look in pictures so please dont look at me) I now want a nicer camera. We had a Egg hunt and BBQ in the back yard. It was such a beautiful day!! Crystal and Lance came with their kids and so did our really good friends Rich and Allison, and their kids. We enjoy sitting in the back yard with the 75 degree weather, and the kids running around. I love spring!! My poor mom and dad had to go back to the cold and a foot of snow on the ground. I told them they just needed to stay longer at least until the snow melted, but duty calls, and they were off early this morning.
We had so much fun, and I hope everyone had a great Easter!!
You can check out the slide show of all the fun we had, above!!

A Breakfast My Mom Would Be Proud Off

Every year growing up my mom would make us green pancakes, and green milk for breakfast on St. Patrick's Day. (On Valentine's Day, everything was pink)This year the kids were really into St. Patty's Day, so I thought I would make some Green eggs, green milk, and toast. We even made green snicker doodles the night before. They has so much fun with it. Kennedy wasn't to sure about the green milk and eggs at first. Mainly because Cris told her that we got them green by saving our green buggers, and putting them in it, ans mixing it really well. Gross I know!! She finally ate when I reassured her that I used food coloring. Here are some pics of our yummy breakfast.

Spring Music Program

Kennedy and Kaden had their spring music program today. Jocelyn and Cole loved it. Kennedy has been singing the songs here at home, and Jocelyn knows one of them, she sang along with all the second graders. It was really cute. Cole loved clapping for them in the end. Here are some pictures, and video of them singing their little hearts out!!
Kennedy waving along with everyone else

Kaden getting into the actions

Kennedy singing My Body Makes Music
Kaden singing Old McDonald

Kennedy's video turned out blurry. I really need a new camera, every time I zoom in the pictures or video is blurry. I didn't get all of Kaden's song because I had to walk up a little to take pictures. Which meant I had to leave Jocelyn and Cole alone. Kaden's teacher did sit by them so I could get his picture and video. When it was Kennedy's turn to sing some front row seats were open, so I moved up there to get her pictures. I think I'm getting soft in my old age. I almost cried when I saw them singing but I held it together. They are growing to fast. Kennedy will be baptized this year. Crazy!!!

Donation Link

As most of you know I'm running the P.F. Chang's Rock and Roll Marathon in San Diego on June 1st. I decided to make my run worth a cause. I joined forces with many others and have a goal to raise money to cure blood cancers:leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has been working hard for more than 50 years. Their funded research has contributed to major advances in the treatment of cancer. BUT MORE PROGRESS IS NEEDED TO FIND CURES!!!Someone new is diagnosed with blood cancer every five minutes; every 10 minutes, someone dies. In fact despite the many breakthroughs, leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children, and young adults under 20.
That's why I'm asking you to sponsor me to support the Society's lifesaving cancer research. Your support will help improve the lives of more that 823,000 Americans who are battling blood caners.
I have added a link to the side of my blog. You can click on it to get to my web page to donate. If you would like to donate, but don't have a credit card you want to use, email me at chrismoss79@msn.com, and I will email you my address where you can send a donation. Your donation is 100% tax deductible.
If you have any family members, or friends that might want to donate please give them my blog address, or donation web page address.

Every mile gets us closer to a cure!!!!

Day Light Savings

So we Arizonans don't participate in day light savings. But the Moss family or any other Railroad family has to deal with the time change. How is that might you ask. Well the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad does. Here they go by Mountain Standard Time. ( I think) So when Cris is trying to see when he will get his call to work, we have to subtract a hour from our time. There have been a few times when he's has forgotten this. For example just last night. He was going to go to work at 4 in the morning. Then I reminded him of the time change and he wasn't to happy on losing out on a hour of sleep. So he had to go at 3. The poor guy. He only got maybe three hours of sleep. Luckily he got called on a deadhead. That being said, I'm glad we don't have to do the whole time change here in Arizona, but it sure is a pain to deal with when Cris goes to work. And on the bright side he gets home an hour sooner.(kinda)

I got tagged by Corri. So here goes I'll give it a whirl.

The Rules...

1. Pick up the nearest book (at least 123 pages).
2. Turn to page 123
3. Find the 5th sentence
4. Post the 5th sentence on your blog
5. Tag 5 people

The nearest book near me is "Way to Be" by Gordan B. Hinckley. The fifth sentence is
Be Humble
Is this book telling me something? I know for a fact that I could be more humble. I guess its a good thing I read this small but simple sentence today. I really needed it. I am going to try and be more humble in everything that I do. I loved this book, and I loved Pres. Hinckley's 9 be's. I think I'm going to re-read this book. I could use a refresher.
I guess I get to tag 5 people. Wow. I'm not sure if five people even read my blog.
Your it: Rachel, Michelle, Jayne Ann, Lani, and Katherine.

A Day in The Life of A Moss

A friend from high school did this on her blog and I thought it would be fun to try. (thanks for the idea Rachel!)You take a picture of the clock every hour at 20 minutes after(or what ever time you want) to make the time go faster throughout the today.

I rolled out of bed to four kids wanting breakfast. Cris went to work late the night before and we won't expect him back till late tonight. I got the kids some cereal, and some how got all four of them ready along with myself within the hour. WOW!
It's now 8:20, and we are in a mad dash to the door to get the kids off to school. I then head to the gym.

While there I do intervals on the treadmill for 30 minutes. One minute running at a 6.5 and two minutes running at 7.6. Phew am I tired. Cole sat in the stroller next to me as a older man joked how he would rather be him. Jocelyn sat in the kids room and colored, and watched Dora.
It's 9:20 and I'm still at the gym. Now I'm doing alot of ab exercises. I'm trying to make up for the past six months of not doing them because of my hernia.

I just had to take a picture of my new running shoes. They were alot of money, and it's not often I spend that much on myself. I'm also wearing my lucky marathon socks!(My legs aren't that pretty to look at but the shoes are.) Some how with in this hour I head home get showered, and head off to Wal-Mart to get a birthday present for Jocelyn's friend Brekken.

At 10:20 we are picking out a bag to go with the gift and only have 10 minutes to check out, and get to the party which starts at 10:30. We get there a few minutes late, and mass caose erupts as it should when you are at a party with a bunch of other 3 and 4 year olds.

Opps I'm late on taking this picture. We are on our way home from the party. I'm thinking my kids won't eat lunch since they filled up on cake and ice cream. not to mention the goodies in there goodie bags.

Wow time flies when your having fun. Of course I knew the kids wouldn't eat lunch so what's the point of making it. So they sat on the couch and watched T.V. for a few minutes while they ate some cheese and crackers.

At 1:20 the kids were down for their naps, and I attempted to pay bills. Yuck!! My online banking was down so I couldn't. I guess we'll be rich for a few more hours. I then had the tough decision to either take a nap or fold the laundry. Hmmm. The nap won, so I missed out on the picture for 2:20.

Time to get the kids from school. I love this time of day. I really miss them while they are at school. Then comes homework the dreaded part of the day. Then I pay my bills. We are poor now:(

Back in the car we go. Off to Kaden's last basket ball practice. I love to watch him but I'm so glad it's over. It seems as if I'm everywhere today. So in this hour we sit and watch him play. It's quite the chore with all the kids.

We are in the car going through the drive through at McDonalds. Not a healthy dinner, but the fastest since the kids thought they were going to starve to death.

Wow I need to clean my stove. It's 6:20. A babysitter will be here soon, so I can go get a temple recommend interview. I'm hoping it's not to late to get it for this Saturday. A good friend of mine is getting sealed along with her husband and two kids this weekend in Phoenix, and I really want to go. I forgot that they were expired. Opps!( I'm so happy for you Susie!:))

The kids are ready for bed and I'm back from the interview. Kaden is mad because I told him to turn off the Wii, and get some jammies on. Cole is crying because he wants the paci. (which I need to take away, but don't have the heart.) Kennedy is cleaning her room.( boy it gets messy fast)Jocelyn is watching cartoons.

Here they all are in their jammies!

This picture is 10 minutes early. Mainly because the kids are in bed.(Oh, man Jocelyn just got out of bed and is doing her pouty face and is scared. I know she's just playing me the little stinker.) This is my time of the day. When I just sit on my butt and watch T.V. or blog. I love bedtime!!!
That's us in a day. And what a busy one at that!!

Our Family's New Toy

We bought the kids a basketball hoop the other day. (When I say we, I mean Cris, he came home with it out of the blue.) Kaden has been into basketball alot lately, and has been asking for one. We had talked about getting it when we got our taxes. Well as you can see, we got our taxes. They have had so much fun with it, and it has been so nice the past week that they have been outside constantly!! I love spring! I'm afraid it will get cold again, as it always does but for now bring on spring weather!!!

We also got our gas insert for our fireplace. We just need to install it now, and get a inspection on it since we have to move a gas line. I'm really excited. We had to drive to Show Low to get it which is a 1 1/2 hour drive, but it was well worth it since we got it 50% off. We've also resheetrocked, the rest of the house. Now if only Cris would start mudding and taping it. so Tim can start texturing it. We also bought a new front door last week, and we still need to install it. I love doing home improvements. I feel like we are getting a new house in some ways.
